The demographic characteristics of respondents revealed a predominantly middle-aged, married population with a moderate level of education, highlighting the potential influence on community perceptions and actions regarding habitat loss and conservation efforts. The study identified human activities such as agricultural expansion, overgrazing, and illegal hunting as major causes of habitat loss in the area. These activities were found to have significant impacts on wildlife populations, including loss of animals and changes in ecosystem dynamics. Despite moderate awareness about habitat loss among the community, conservation efforts were relatively low, indicating a need for more robust strategies and awareness campaigns. Respondents suggested various strategies to avoid habitat loss, including stopping bush burning, starting afforestation, and stopping deforestation, which align with recommended conservation practices. The study emphasizes the importance of sustainable land management practices and community-based conservation initiatives to mitigate habitat loss and protect biodiversity. Based on these findings, recommendations include increasing environmental education and awareness, promoting community involvement in conservation efforts, advocating for supportive policies, establishing monitoring and evaluation systems, supporting research and innovation, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders. Overall, this study provides valuable insights into the challenges of habitat loss and the importance of conservation efforts in the study area. Implementing the recommended strategies can contribute significantly to habitat conservation, biodiversity protection, and ecosystem health in these communities.
